Newark Anti-Violence Coalition

The NAVC’s 155 week long Anti-Violence demonstration became the longest Anti-violence rally in the history of the United States and it continued for over 200 weeks. The NAVC continues to host Town Hall Meetings, Social Justice Forums on college campuses, provides education in the detention centers, schools and the greater community.

The NAVC assists families who have been victims of violence and crime with support and linkages to social service resources to help them through their process to restoration.

The NAVC works on the comprehensive resolution of bullying, intimidation, harassment, domestic violence, police violence and community violence. NAVC has created a trauma response team to respond to trauma in the community.

NAVC has participated in EJUSA training and curriculum for Trauma-informed Responses for law enforcement.  NAVC is instrumental in working to improve Community- Police relations.
